Hello, I am Principal Miller
My Story
My name is Anquanita Miller and I currently serve as the principal of Icon Prep School Tampa K-8, a role that is both challenging and the most rewarding of my professional life. My journey to this position has been shaped by a deep commitment to education, a passion for student success, and a belief in the transformative power of learning.

I was born and raised in Largo, Florida, where I developed a love for learning at an early age. I was fortunate to have teachers who not only taught me academics but also inspired me to think critically, ask questions, and believe in my potential. Their influence played a major role in my decision to pursue a career in education.

I completed my undergraduate degree in Human Services at Springfield College and my, followed by a teaching credential that allowed me to enter the classroom as a teacher. I spent 20 years teaching Exceptional Education and General Education during which time I discovered how powerful a positive learning environment could be. I realized that beyond instruction, students need support, structure, and someone who believes in them.

Eager to have a broader impact, I pursued a master’s degree in educational leadership, which eventually led to my first administrative role as an assistant principal. I learned quickly that leadership is not about authority but about service—supporting teachers, empowering students, and partnering with families to create a thriving school community.
As principal of Icon Preparatory School K-8, I strive to foster a school culture that is inclusive, respectful, and driven by high expectations. My vision is to create a safe, inspiring, and engaging place where every child can reach their full potential. I believe in shared leadership and collaborative problem-solving, and I make it a priority to be visible, approachable, and involved in the daily life of the school.

Outside of my professional life, I am a parent, a lifelong learner, and someone who values community deeply. I believe that education is the foundation of a better future, and I am honored every day to play a part in shaping that future through the lives of the students and staff I serve.
This is more than a job for me—it is a calling. And I remain committed to continuous growth, innovation, and equity in education.
